Peanut Caramel Twix Bars
Ingredients
For the peanut base:
- 1/2 cup unsalted peanuts
- 1/4 cup almonds
- 1/4 tsp sea salt
- water
For the caramel layer:
- 1 1/2 cup dried dates pitted
- 1/4 cup peanut butter
- 1 tbsp coconut oil melted
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/3 cup water
For topping and bottom layer:
- 125 g dark 80% chocolate melted
- chocolate carobs
Instructions
- In a small pan bring water to boil. Place a heatproof bowl on the top of the pan with boiling water and start melting chocolate. Pour 1/3 melted chocolate in a prepared loaf or a cake pan. Leave it in a fridge while making the peanut layer.
- Place all the ingredients for the peanut layer in a food processor and process until you make a fine crumble. If it crumbles too much, add a little bit of water to make it stickier. Press the mixture in your loaf or cake pan with chocolate. Set it aside in a fridge.
- Make the caramel layer by adding all the ingredients for the caramel layer to a food processor and process until the smooth paste is created. Pour it over the peanut layer in your cake pan.
- Pour the rest of melted chocolate over the caramel layer and leave it in a freezer to firm up for at least 1 hour.
- Sprinkle with cocoa carobs before serving. Enjoy!
