Looking for some post-workout treat? Or do you just like orange flavour? Then you will enjoy these little chocolate and orange protein balls! They are very easy to make and they are packed with protein!
Do I have to emphasize how good the combination of orange and chocolate is?? It always reminds me of my childhood when I loved these little orange candies, covered with dark chocolate. They looked like Turkish delight, but tastier!
So, in my adulthood, I naturally tried to find the same sort of taste for my favourite chocolate treat. But this time, I created a tastier, healthier, gluten and dairy-free treat! Who would refuse such a divine dessert?!
Using raw vegan chocolate protein powder, these protein balls are also raw. They can serve as a great post-workout treat when you need to top up yourself with extra powder. These orange and chocolate protein balls are great any time you feel like eating chocolate or drinking fresh orange juice. It’s both together, minus extra sugar!!
If you prefer a little bit of vanilla taste in your protein balls, you can use raw vegan vanilla protein powder instead of the one with chocolate flavour.
These vegan and gluten-free chocolate and orange protein balls are very easy to make. You only need freshly grated orange zest, freshly squeezed orange juice, (unbleached) almonds or almond meal (that is basically just blended almonds without skin), raw cocoa powder, Medjool dates (dried or fresh), coconut oil (preferably melted), and maple syrup.
For extra strong taste, add ground cinnamon and vanilla extract.
Soooo…. Are you ready to indulge in this absolutely beautiful chocolate-orange taste??
