I totally get it. Whoe has time in the morning? Unless you are a crazy morning person who enjoys being up early! Most of us I believe stay in a comfotable and warm bed until the very last minute. Am I right?
So anything easy and fast always comes very handy. That’s why I made these super simple 5-minute overnight oats. And because they are overnight, you save some much precious time in the morning.
In this cold weather (if you are in Europe like me or anywhere in the northern hemisphere) oats are great. Some people prefer warm oat porridge and some people like cold oats.
This is a basic recipe. For your toppings, you can add whatever you like. I really like to add some nuts to mine. Raw cashews,  hazelnuts, walnuts… They are all great and also a source of healthy fats. Seeds will do you a
Add some berries if you like or other fruits. You can mash banana and mix it with oats or slice it and add it n the top.
If you would like to keep your breakfast gluten-free, use gluten-free oats.
5-Minute Apple Overnight Oats
Ingredients
- 1 apple grated with skin on
- 1/2 cup plant-based milk
- 1/3 cup gluten-free oats
- 1 tbsp white chia seeds
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon optional
- 1 tbsp maple syrup optional
To serve:
- fresh or frozen berries
- favourite chopped or whole nuts
- fruit
Instructions
- In a bowl mix together milk, oats, chia seeds, grated apple, and cinnamon, if using. Cover and place in a fridge overnight.
- In the morning, stir into maple syrup if using. Place in a jar and add your favourite toppings.
- Enjoy!
